This is my Mangrove 17 which I had built in 1986. It was the first flats skiff to be built entirely with sandwich style construction. The hull is Airex and everything else is Divinicell. This boat weighed about five hundred pounds less than most other production flats skiffs built at that time. This photo conveys the illusion that no one was operating this vessel. This was very carefully choreographed and we were very careful to make sure everything was under control when this photo was taken. We were not interested in being in contention for any of the "Darwin Awards." |
